CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 4-2 decision to James Madison on Friday afternoon at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
- The Chanticleers opened the match strong, securing the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. The duo of Iannis Fernandes and Curzio Manucci earned a 6-3 win on court two, while Rivers Cahill and Jack Dixon followed with a 6-3 victory on court three to give Coastal an early 1-0 lead.
- Coastal continued to battle in singles play, with Christopher Norlin picking up a victory on court one, defeating Esteve Agusti 6-2, 6-2 to give the Chants a 2-0 advantage.
- Despite the early momentum, James Madison responded by winning four singles matches on courts two, three, four, and five to clinch the 4-2 victory.
- Several matches were tightly contested, including a three-set battle on court five, as the Dukes secured the comeback win in the Sun Belt Conference opener.
- Coastal will look to bounce back in its next match as it hosts Georgia State on April 5 at 10 a.m. at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
