CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team fell to the Troy Trojans 4-2 on Thursday evening at St. John's Stadium.
After two scoreless innings, Troy got on the scoreboard when Presley Ivey, Makaley Boswell, and Mia Tidmore each recorded RBI singles to put the Trojans up 4-0.
Coastal cut the deficit to 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Libby Pippen cracked a solo home run over the right center field wall.
The Chants continued to battle in the bottom of the sixth frame loading the bases on a pair of singles and a walk. Metzger then slashed a sacrifice fly to right field to narrow the gap to 4-2.
The Trojans kept their cool and recorded a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the seventh frame to secure the 4-2 win.
Abby Henderson fell to 7-14 in the circle allowing four runs on nine hits over 7.0 innings of work.
