Volleyball And Beach Volleyball Each Earn AVCA Team Academic Awards

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Coastal Carolina beach and indoor volleyball teams were each honored for their academic excellence as the Chanticleers earned the 2025-26 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.
The award, which was established during the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that demonstrate excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale. A total of 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams earned the honor this year.
The Chanticleer beach volleyball program posted a 3.70 team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year, marking the program's ninth consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award (2018-26).
This marks the third consecutive year the indoor volleyball team has received the honor and the eighth time overall since first being recognized following the 2014-15 academic year. The Chanticleers posted a 3.63 team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year.

The association's mission is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development. Its membership includes more than 10,000 collegiate, professional, high school, club and youth volleyball coaches, primarily in the United States. The AVCA represents women's volleyball, men's volleyball and beach volleyball coaches and works to increase exposure and recognition for the sport.
