Men's Basketball Unveils 2026-27 Schedule

CONWAY, S.C. – Striving to build on the momentum of its first winning season in four years, Coastal Carolina announced its 2026-27 men's basketball schedule Thursday. The schedule features 15 regular-season games inside the HTC Center and five opponents that reached the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
In its third season under head coach Justin Gray, Coastal will open the regular season against Eastern Michigan in the first of two MAC-SBC Challenge match-ups on Nov. 2, five days after hosting Columbia International in an exhibition game at the HTC Center.
In addition to 18 Sun Belt Conference games, the Chanticleers will play 14 non-conference contests. CCU welcomes former Big South rivals Campbell (Nov. 24) and Winthrop (Dec. 5) to the HTC Center, along with in-state foe USC Upstate (Nov. 9) and Western Illinois (Nov. 28). Coastal will also host two non-Division I opponents: Virginia University of Lynchburg (Nov. 12) and Carolina University (Dec. 13), formerly known as Piedmont International University.
The Chanticleers' non-conference road schedule features games at Duke (Nov. 5), Wisconsin (Nov. 15), Tennessee (Nov. 20) and Queens (Dec. 2), all of which reached the NCAA Tournament last season. Coastal will also visit East Carolina (Dec. 9) and William & Mary (Dec. 22). Its second MAC-SBC Challenge game is scheduled for Feb. 6.
Coastal opens Sun Belt play at Georgia Southern on Dec. 16 before visiting two-time league champion Troy on Dec. 19. Troy is the fifth team on the schedule that reached the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
The Chanticleers resume league play at the HTC Center on New Year's Eve against Louisiana Tech before hosting ULM two days later. Road games against Southern Miss (Jan. 7) and South Alabama (Jan. 9) follow before Coastal concludes crossover play at home against Louisiana on Jan. 15. CCU doesn't play Arkansas State this season.
Coastal visits App State on Jan. 20 before returning home to face Marshall (Jan. 23) and Georgia Southern (Jan. 27). The Chanticleers close January at Georgia State on Jan. 30 and begin February at home against James Madison on Feb. 3.
After its second MAC-SBC Challenge game, Coastal returns to conference play at Marshall on Feb. 11. The Chanticleers then host Old Dominion (Feb. 13) and Georgia State (Feb. 17), visit James Madison (Feb. 20) and close their home schedule against App State (Feb. 23). Coastal concludes the regular season at Old Dominion on Feb. 26.
The 2027 Sun Belt Conference Championship will return to the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Florida, from March 2-8. The tournament champion will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
