Musick Named Sun Belt Setter of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Coastal Carolina junior Kaylee Musick has been named the Sun Belt Setter of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Musick averaged 8.38 assists and 1.92 digs per set while helping the Chanticleers post a 2-1 record at the Dolphin Volleyball Classic. She recorded two double-doubles during the tournament.
Musick opened the weekend with 33 assists, 10 digs and three service aces against UConn. She recorded an assist on 40.7 percent of her set attempts. Musick followed with 33 assists in a four-set victory over host Jacksonville.
She capped the tournament with a career-high 43 assists, a season-high 11 digs and three service aces in a four-set win over Florida A&M. Musick recorded an assist on 37.4 percent of her set attempts against the Rattlers.
Four Coastal attackers finished with more than 25 kills during the tournament: Anzley Rinard (42), Isabele Filardo (29), Natalie Hughes (28) and Hatteras Welker (26).
Musick is the first Chanticleer to earn Sun Belt Setter of the Week honors since Brigitta Petrenko in 2020.
Coastal Carolina continues its five-match road trip Thursday, Sept. 10, at Wofford before traveling to Knoxville to face No. 17 Tennessee on Saturday, Sept. 12.
