Matt Pepin serves as the Director of Analytics for Coastal Carolina Baseball, where he plays a key role in advancing the program’s use of data and technology to enhance player development and game strategy. He works closely with the coaching staff to provide advanced metrics, video breakdowns, and performance insights that give the Chanticleers a competitive edge.
“His recent work at Coastal has demonstrated his tireless work ethic and the significant value he brings to our program,” stated Head Coach Kevin Schnall. “To succeed in college baseball, it is essential to provide student-athletes and coaches with all the analytical data they need to perform at their best. Matt is as good as anyone I have ever worked with in providing useful data, and we could not be more excited about him joining us full-time.”
In the summer of 2024, Pepin was selected to join head coach Gary Gilmore’s staff as the bench coach for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Summer Tour, furthering his experience on the national stage and showcasing his ability to contribute at the highest level of college baseball.
A Coastal Carolina graduate, Pepin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Sport Management in 2024. As a student, he served as the program’s Analytics & Video Coordinator, where he built a foundation in player evaluation, scouting, and technology integration that shaped his role today.
