High School: Was a four-year starter on the line at Carolina Forest, starting at defensive end and tight end for the Panthers and earning All-Region accolades at tight end as a junior and senior... Named to Sun News 'Toast of the Coast' at tight end his senior year after posting 12 catches for 128 yards and one touchdown and grading out at 91 percent on blocking... Had 17 receptions for 193 yards as a junior, earning Honorable Mention 'Toast of the Coast' honors... Played four sports in high school: basketball (four seasons), track (four seasons) and weightlifting (three years)... Garnered 'Panther Award' for leadership of the basketball squad as a senior... Placed fifth in the state in the discus and earned the Top Scholar-Athlete Award for track as a senior... In the same signing class with high school teammate Tommy Fraser... Earned a place on Carolina Forest's A/B Honor Roll...
