Prior to Coastal Carolina: Attended Quincy University from 2005-07 where he was an Honorable Mention All-Conference pick on the defensive line his freshman and sophomore seasons and served as captain as a sophomore... Played in all 11 games as a sophomore, recording 29 tackles (12 solos) with 3.0 tackles for loss for 12 yards, three breakups and one fumble recovery...

High School: Was a 2005 graduate of Oak Park- River Forest... Lettered three years for the Huskies on the offensive and defensive lines, earning All-Conference honors on the O-line his last two years and on the D-line as a senior... Also wrestled where he was an All-State wrestler his senior year and a national qualifier in Greco-Roman wrestling... Also won the high school heavyweight division of the University of Michigan Wolverine Tournament... Also threw the shot put two years, earning letters both seasons... Qualified for the sectionals and was regional champion in the shot put his junior year... Was a member of the National Honor Society...
