Dan Morphis

Dan Morphis was named the equipment coordinator for the Coastal Carolina athletics department in 2012. He supports all 19 intercollegiate men’s and women’s teams and works directly with Chris Carter, the department’s direct liaison with Under Armour, in handling the ordering and implementation of Coastal Carolina University athletics' branding.

Prior to joining the Coastal Carolina staff, Morphis was the head clubhouse manager and equipment manager with the Charlotte Knights, a Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox organization from 2006-11. He also served as an assistant equipment manager during the 2003 and 2004 seasons.

Before working with the Knights in minor league baseball, he was the equipment manager at Davidson College for 20 years from 1986 to 2006.

He has also spent time at training camp for the San Diego Chargers and the Washington Redskins. When the Carolina Panthers started in Charlotte, N.C., he became part of their gameday staff, and for the next eight years worked with the Panthers at home and traveled to a few road games, including the 1996 NFC championship game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Appalachian State University in 1984.

Originally from Mooresville, N.C., Morphis currently lives in Surfside.
