Mike Marangelli was named the assistant equipment coordinator in July 2021. He will work directly with the equipment coordinator and will help to oversee the maintenance and inventory of athletic equipment for all the University's 19 NCAA intercollegiate athletic sports programs.
Marangelli came to Coastal Carolina from nearby Charleston Southern where he was the head athletic equipment manager for 2020-21 after serving as a graduate assistant with the football program over the previous two seasons. As the head athletic equipment manager, he oversaw the maintenance and inventory of athletic equipment for all of CSU's intercollegiate athletic sports programs. He also oversaw the coordination of all CSU teams' day-to-day sports activities, the maintenance of sports facilities, and aided each coaching staff in determining the needs and purchase orders for athletic and sports equipment.
He also helped the athletic department establish, maintain, and reconcile uniform and equipment inventories, as well as oversee the maintenance of all inventory records for the programs. He also oversaw and coordinated the work of the athletic equipment staff and students engaged in the day-to-day performance of related activities.
Marangelli served as a graduate assistant on the Buccaneer Football Operations Staff where he helped handle the day-to-day operations in the equipment room. His primary responsibilities included designing, ordering, and budgeting for gear and equipment for the CSU football team. He also managed the football equipment room and assisted with team logistics and operations.
He also gained key experience in January 2020 when he served as an equipment manager for the USA Football team in Arlington, Texas. His responsibilities included fitting the athletes for helmets and shoulder pads, practice field setup, gameday sideline setup, and maintenance of player equipment throughout the duration of the event.
Marangelli graduated from Charleston Southern with a bachelor's degree in communication in 2018 and followed up with a master's degree in organizational leadership in 2020.
