Orlando Antigua joined the Coastal Carolina men's basketball program as the Director of Men’s Basketball Performance on August 12, 2024.
Antigua comes to CCU from Michigan where he was the strength and conditioning intern for the Wolverines’ men’s basketball and men’s golf programs.
He also spent time as the strength and conditioning coach for boys’ basketball at Fredrick Douglass High School in Lexington, Ky., and spent time as an intern at Illinois as the men’s basketball strength and conditioning coach.
Antigua spent six years (2012-18) in the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant of Marines, Aviation Maintenance, where he led physical fitness training programs for Marines focusing on improvement in overall strength, endurance and combat readiness.
He organized and facilitated group fitness sessions, fostering teamwork and enhancing unit cohesion through shared physical challenges.
“Orlando has been around winning programs his entire life being the son of a longtime basketball coach,” Gray said. “I’m excited to have him join our program here at Coastal and looking forward to build something special here.”
Antigua graduated from Monroe College (2020) where he received his degree in business management.
