Tyrell has transferred to CCU from Odessa Junior College...He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
AT ODESSA JUNIOR COLLEGE (Freshman) 2016-17: Gumbs-Frater had a solid freshman campaign at Odessa averaging 3.5 points per game while shooting 42 percent from the field and 33 percent from beyond the three point line...He also hit 75 percent of his free throws while averaging an assist per game...Helped Odessa finish the season 28-6 overall and champions of the NJCAA Region V Tournament...Odessa's strong season saw them make a run to the quarterfinal round of the NJCAA National Tournament.
AT ST. BENEDICTS HIGH SCHOOL: Played for national powerhouse St. Benedicts, who was ranked among the top 20 teams among all high school teams...He averaged 18 points, six rebounds and four assists...Was also rated a composite two-star player coming out of high school.
