Biography

Former Coastal Carolina midfielder China Maja begins his first season as an assistant coach on Shaun Docking[apos]s staff.

His primary responsibilities will be geared toward the development of the Chanticleer forwards and midfielders.

Maja played under Docking at Coastal Carolina in 2004 and 2005 and helped the Chants win a pair of Big South Conference Championships to go along with two NCAA appearances.

During his two seasons in teal, Baja helped Coastal post an overall record of 25-17-2 and a 9-5 mark inside the Big South. He finished his career with four assists.

Baja began his coaching career in 2007 after beginning his own organization of club teams that began with just one team and increased to four. He recently served as head coach of a different club team of the Coast Futbol Alliance in the Myrtle Beach area prior to his appointment as assistant coach of the Chants.

Baja graduated from Coastal Carolina in 2007 with a degree in marketing and earned his mater[apos]s degree in finance from Webster University in 2009.
