Biography

This is German Perez[apos]s first season as student assistant with the Coastal Carolina University men[apos]s tennis team, but is a familar face on the squad as he was a member of the 2009 roster.

Last season, Perez earned All-Big South Conference in both singles and doubles. Perez was also selected to the ITA Academic team. In singles, Perez posted a 13-8 record in the No. 1 spot, while going on a seven-match win streak to end the season. Perez and partner Ernesto Ramos also went 16-4 record in the No. 1 spotom doubles, as the duo was ranked No. 68 by collegetennisonline.com, the first time in school history a Coastal doubles team was ranked. In fall 2008, Perez won the A-1 doubles flight at the Sergio Tacchini Collegiate Invitational with partner Ramos, earning an 8-6 win over UMBC[apos]s Freidi Voorman and Nick Savage-Pollack. He also went undefeated in singles matches at the Coastal Carolina Invitational beating Francis Marion[apos]s Jack Bishop and Campbell[apos]s Loukas Wallart in the Gamma Flight. Prior to Coastal Carolina.

Perez went to University of Arkansas-Little Rock from fall 2005 to spring 2008. He finished the 2008 season with a 12-12 overall singles record, going 2-5 at No. 1 singles, 8-6 at No. 2 singles, and 2-1 at No. 3 singles. In doubles, he ended the season with a 14-7 overall doubles record. In the spring season Perez was ranked 30th in singles in the Central Region. He was a two-time selection to the Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll. In the 2006-07 season finished with a 12-5 singles record going 4-0 at No. 2, 0-1 at No. 3, and 8-4 at No. 4. He began the season on a four match winning streak. In 2005-06 at Arkansas, Perez recorded an 11-4 singles record going 2-0 at No. 2, 1-1 at No. 4, 6-2 at No. 5, and 2-1 at No. 6 and helped his team to a 19-8 overall record.

Perez is a 2005 graduate of Colegio Heios in Valencia, Spain. He was a finalist of the Comunidad Valenciana tournament in the under 16 age group, and won the Team Championship of the Comunidad Valenciana. He also competed in the doubles quarterfinals of the Spain under 16 and in the quarterfinals in the ETA Tournament in Austria. Perez is the champion of the National Mediterranean Open.

He is the son of German and Maria Perez.

Perez currently resides in Conway, S.C. and is majoring in economics and marketing at Coastal.
