Biography

Former Coastal Carolina standout Plamen Tzvetkov enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the men[apos]s tennis team under head coach Chris Powers.

Tzvetkov finished his career at Coastal as one of the most decorated doubles players in school history. He posted an all-time doubles record of 53-28 and currently ranks fifth all-time at Coastal Carolina in doubles victories. Tzvetkov earned a spot on the All-Big South Conference doubles team as a freshman in 2007 after going 5-2 in league play.

He also turned in a 45-38 mark in singles action from 2006-10 and helped the Chants tie a school record with 16 wins in 2009. Tzvetkov also led the Chants to a 7-1 record on the road that season to mark the most road wins by a Chanticleer team since the inaugural season of 1989 saw Coastal post an identical 7-1 record away from home.

During his four seasons at Coastal, Tzvetkov and the Chants owned a 54-37 overall record and a 14-11 mark inside the Big South Conference.

Tzvetkov[apos]s accomplishments at Coastal weren[apos]t just limited to the court either. He was an ITA Scholar-Athlete from 2007-10 and was named to the Big South All-Academic Team in 2008 and 2010.
