2021 All-Sun Belt Second Team - Doubles


2021 (Fifth Year Senior)

• Named to the All-Sun Belt second team for doubles play along with Diego Giraldo
• Ranked as high as No. 65 in the ITA doubles national rankings on the season
• The duo finished the season ranked No. 87 in the ITA rankings becoming the first doubles team in CCU history to end the year nationally ranked
• Went 8-4 overall on the season in doubles play, all at the No. 1 doubles spot, and 3-0 in conference play
• With Diego Giraldo, the duo posted a pair of four-match winning streaks on the season and recorded wins over the top-flight doubles teams of Charlotte (March 7), Georgia Southern (March 14), Georgia State (March 23), Campbell (March 30), South Carolina State (April 6), Presbyterian (April 9), Troy (April 11), and The Citadel (April 16)
• Also went 4-9 in singles action, playing at the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 flights on the year
• Posted a three-set victory at the No. 1 singles flight over Will Graham of The Citadel (April 16)
• Also had wins at the No. 2 flight over Nilo Duarte of North Florida (March 10) and Callum Rendle of Wofford (April 13)
• Earned a spot on the Dean's List (3.5 GPA or higher) for the 2021 spring semester

• Was in the lineup for all eight matches of the shortened season
• Played primarily the No. 2 singles spot, posting a 2-4 record
• Also dropped a match at No.3 at No. 7 nationally-ranked Wake Forest to start the spring season
• Won back-to-back matches on court No. 2 versus Presbyterian and at Winthrop
• Played doubles at both the No. 1 (0-1) and No. 2 (2-3) flights
• Tabbed a 2020 ITA Scholar-Athlete

• Played in 23 of 24 matches on the season
• Compiled a 12-7 overall record in singles action, ranking second for Coastal in total singles wins on the year
• Was one of three Chants to go unbeaten in Sun Belt singles matches, finishing a perfect 5-0 against conference opponents
• Saw action on five of six singles courts with records of 0-1 (No. 2), 2-1 (No. 3), 6-3, (No. 4), 3-1 (No. 5), and 1-1 (No. 6)
• Posted a 7-7 overall record in doubles play, including a mark of 2-1 in Sun Belt matches
• Saw success at No. 3 doubles (4-2) while also spending time at No. 1 (1-0) and No. 2 (2-5) on the year

• Posted an 11-4 singles record and won four of five dual match decisions
• Earned the fourth point for Texas Tech as part of 7-0 sweeps over UTPB and Louisiana
• Notched a 7-7 doubles record on the year

• Posted a 1-9 singles record between the No. 5 and No. 6 positions as a true freshman
• Defeated Mauricio Del Rio of UTA to clinch a 4-0 sweep over the Mavericks
• Collected a 3-4 doubles record on the season

• A native of Finland who signed with the Red Raiders in November 2016
• Held a career-high International Tennis Federation (ITF) singles ranking of No. 583
• Won the 2015 men's national indoor and outdoor championships in Finland
• Captured the 2014 U18 indoor singles title along with the 2014 U18 national indoor and outdoor doubles crowns
