Luiz Faria is in his second season as a volunteer assistant coach in 2022-23 for head coach Chris Powers in the men's tennis team after serving two years as a graduate assistant coach from 2019-21.
Tabbed the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year, Faria played for the Men in Teal for four seasons from 2015-19. Named to the 2019 All-Sun Belt first team for singles and All-Sun Belt second team for doubles, Faria totaled 43 wins in singles play and 38 victories in doubles action over his time at Coastal. He was also a member of the 2016 Big South Conference Championship team.
He was also a four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Coastal Carolina. He received his MBA in May of 2020 after graduating with his bachelor's degree in Finance in December 2019.
