Sarah Lockett spent four seasons (2005-08) as an assistant coach at Coastal Carolina University, working with the infielders and hitters.

Lockett was a three-year starter for the Lady Chanticleers, earning two All-Region selections and leading CCU to two Big South Conference titles and a pair of NCAA Regional berths. Lockett was the 2001 Big South Conference Player of the Year and Tournament MVP, as she led Coastal to its second consecutive league title and NCAA Regional. Named a CoSIDA Division I Academic All-American First Team member and the 2000 and 2001 Big South Conference Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, she set the then single-season home run record for CCU at 15 and, in just three years of play, ranks in the top-10 in career home runs, batting average, hits, doubles, runs scored, RBI and on-base percentage.

Lockett returned to Coastal after serving as a graduate assistant coach for two years at Kennesaw State after wrapping up her collegiate playing career there as a NFCA Division II All-American player during the 2002 season. She also had extensive international softball experience, having played for the national teams for Australia and Great Britain.
