"Shelbie is a strong infielder with a lot of upside who will likely find a home as a collegiate corner," Green stated. "Her power makes her a long ball threat anywhere in our line-up."

Summerlin's dad and uncle both played college baseball. Her uncle Ashley, played college baseball for LaGrange College. In 2003, both were invited to play in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association World Series where they both helped the team to victory.  He also coached his Port Saint Joe HS baseball team to the 2018 State Championship and was awarded 1A Coach of the Year. Great-grandpa (Shelvie Summerlin), whom she was named after, is a decorated World War II Airforce veteran. He has preached for over 60 years and was awarded the 50 year Gold Medal.
