Kristyn Wilhelm was hired as assistant athletic trainer in September of 2018 primarily working with the Coastal Carolina softball team on a day-to-day basis and will be present during all athletic activity, while also traveling with the team to all away contests. She is responsible for medical care, including injury evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation.
Prior to CCU, Wilheim spent two years as a graduate assistant at Bowling Green University earning a masters of education in kinesiology. With the Falcon's athletic programs, Wilhelm primarily worked with the women's soccer and baseball teams.
Wilhelm, a native of Sterling Heights, Michigan, graduated from Michigan State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training with a health promotion specialization. With the Spartans, Wilhelm spent time working with the football, basketball, gymnastics, and baseball teams.
After her time in Lansing, Wilhelm served as an athletic trainer intern at the United States Naval Academy, where she primarily worked with the women's volleyball program, while also spending time with varsity sprint football, sailing, track and field, and women's lacrosse.
Wilhelm is BOC and NATA, First Aid, CPR and AED certified..
