Junior Cadet joined the Coastal Carolina track & field coaching staff in August 2021. He will work primarily with the jumping events, while also assisting with sprints and hurdles.
Prior to joining the Chanticleer track & field staff, Cadet worked with Burbank High School from December 2018 to 2020 as an assistant track & field coach before moving to the head coaching position in 2020. Cadet coached both the boys and girls teams to the Pacific League Championship in 2021, first time both won in the same year with the girls team winning the Pacific League Championship for the first time in 31 years. While at Burbank, Cadet organized the season schedules and training for both the cross country and track season. He worked with both the long and short hurdles working on balance off of the hurdle and speed in-between hurdles. Cadet was in charge of preparing the track for upcoming home meets.
From August 2014 to May 2016, Cadet served as an assistant coach in cross country & track and field at Allen Community College in Iola, Kan., where he was named Coach of the Year in 2016. While at Allen Community College, Cadet recruited prospective student-athletes within the United States and Internationally. He managed the team budget for meet entries and travel expenses while working with the short and long hurdles on technique, power, and speed. He also helped coach the heptathlon athletes along with developing speed training phases during the cross country season for distance runners.
Cadet received a bachelor degree in mass communication from Middle Tennessee State in 2014 before getting his master’s degree in filmmaking at the New York Academy in 2019.
A former Middle Tennessee State track & field performer, Cadet was a member of the 2013 Sun Belt Conference championship team in outdoor track & field competition. He placed second in the 2014 Conference USA in both the Indoor 60 meter hurdles and Outdoor 110-meter hurdles.
Before attending MTSU, Cadet was 2009 Florida High School Athlete Association State champion in the 110-meter hurdles and the triple jump while being named the 2009 Track and Field Athlete of the Year at Dwyer High School by both the Palm Beach Post and Sun Sentinel.
