Seandell Davis enters his 3rd season as a coach with Coastal Carolina track & field program. He has overseen the sprints, hurdles & relays with a proven record of developing championship level athletes at both the NCAA Division II and Division I levels.
The 2023-24 season saw two Chants take home two individual Sun Belt Conference titles in outdoor track and field, with Amanda Kinloch winning the Women's 100-meter hurdles (13.18) and Genson Hooper-Price winning the Men’s 400m (46.09). Hooper-Price earned Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year for the performance.
In 2024-25 Amanda Kinloch continued her winning ways under Coach Davis in the 60-meter hurdles as the Indoor Sun Belt Champion (8.16) and repeating as the Outdoor Sun Belt Champion in the 100-meter Hurdles (13.11)
Davis was named the 2023 USTFCCCA Men’s Indoor Southeast Regional Coach of the Year, as well as the Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Southeast Regional Coach of the Year, after leading multiple athletes to national podium finishes. Under his guidance, Alexis Brown captured the 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor 200-meter national title while setting the national record (23.26), and Dario Matau earned national runner-up finishes in both the 60 and 200 meters. Additionally, Alexis was the runner up in the women’s 100m (11.10w) & Dario Matau earning runner up in the men’s 200m (20.34w).
From 2021–23 at Lenoir-Rhyne University, Davis helped produce 40 NCAA Division II All-Americans, 28 conference champions, and more than 160 USTFCCCA All-Region honors, while also mentoring multiple Academic All-Americans. His athletes consistently qualified for national competition and performed at their best when it mattered most.
Since joining Coastal Carolina University in 2023, Davis has continued that trajectory, contributing to 4 conference champions, 5 school records, and 60 top 10 performances in program history. His coaching philosophy blends technical precision, intentional progression, and athlete-centered development to maximize performance while building sustainable success.
Davis attended Wartburg College (’10-12’) & Robert Morris University (’12-14’) & began his coaching career as an assistant & eventual Head Track & Field Coach at Joliet West High School from 2013-19.
