Hannah Demis enters her fifth season on the Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse coaching staff in 2027 and her third as a full-time assistant coach after helping guide the Chanticleers through one of the most successful stretches in program history.

Since joining the staff as a volunteer assistant coach in September 2022, Demis has helped Coastal Carolina qualify for the ASUN Championship Tournament in each season of her tenure, highlighted by the program's first ASUN Tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024. Promoted to a full-time assistant coach in July 2024, Demis oversees the draw unit and works primarily with the Chanticleer offense.

Under her guidance, Coastal Carolina ranked third in the ASUN in goals per game in both 2025 and 2026. She has also helped develop some of the most decorated players in program history, including two-time ASUN Midfielder of the Year Avery McIlwaine (2023, 2024) and 2025 ASUN Offensive Player of the Year Sydney McClure.

Prior to joining the coaching staff, Demis concluded an outstanding collegiate playing career at Coastal Carolina and Furman University, where she played under current Coastal Carolina head coach Rachel Shuck Whitten. After transferring to Coastal Carolina in January 2022, she was named to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team and completed her master's degree in sports management in May 2023.

Following her lone season as a Chanticleer, Demis joined Whitten's staff as a volunteer assistant coach, assisting with offensive and defensive instruction, goalkeeper training, community outreach initiatives, practice planning, and the program's camps and clinics.

Demis spent four seasons at Furman, helping lead the Paladins to the 2021 Southern Conference regular-season championship and conference tournament championship game. A two-year team captain and one of the most accomplished players in program history, she was named the 2021 Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Year and earned SoCon All-Tournament Team honors in both 2019 and 2021.

One of the nation's premier distributors, Demis finished fourth nationally in assists and assists per game during the 2021 season. She remains Furman's all-time leader in career assists and holds the program record for assists in a single game.

During her final semester at Furman, Demis served as a volunteer assistant coach while also interning with the university's health sciences program, helping develop programming focused on student-athlete wellness, identity development, and life after athletics.

A native of Annapolis, Md., Demis earned her bachelor's degree in health sciences from Furman University in December 2021 and her master's degree in sports management from Coastal Carolina University in May 2023.
