Nicole Whitley

Nicole Whitley joined head coach Jo Chubb’s coaching staff in August 2023 as a volunteer assistant coach.

Whitley joins the Chanticleer coaching staff after playing at Rutgers University (2016-2020) while completing her bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. She then went on to obtain a master’s in Sports Communication and Media at Iona College (2020-2022).

The Freehold, N.J., native currently coaches the Beach United F.C., U9, U13, and U17 girls’ squads. Whitley is in charge of providing fundamental soccer skills to players through specialized soccer drills and scrimmage activities. She also plans and organizes soccer matches for the players to get experience performing in a competitive environment.

While playing at Rutgers, Whitley picked up many accolades including being named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, receiving two All-Big Ten third-team selections (2016 and 2018), earning an All-Big Ten Freshman team selection (2016), along with All-American second team honors (2016). She was also ranked in the top 100 players in the nation and the top 15 freshmen in the NCAA by TopDrawerSoccer (TDS) her freshman year (2016) while earning U18 and U20 United States Women’s National Team call-ups.

In her college career, Whitley played in 63 matches and earned 52 starts while tallying eight goals and 20 assists. Ten of her assists came in her freshman year which ranked her first in Rutger’s all-time record book for most assists by a freshman in a single season while also placing her tied for third in the NCAA in the same category.
