Vanessa Phillips Bosshart

Coastal Carolina head women's soccer coach Pete Cuadrado has announced the addition of Vanessa Phillips Bosshart to his coaching staff ahead of the 2026 season.

Phillips Bosshart joins the Chanticleers as the program's goalkeeper coach, bringing nearly two decades of collegiate coaching experience along with an extensive background in elite goalkeeper development.

Most recently, Phillips Bosshart has served as a goalkeeper coach with the United States Women's Youth National Team since September 2024, working with the U15, U16, and U17 squads. She also helped coach the U.S. at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

In addition to her national team responsibilities, Phillips Bosshart has served as the Director of Goalkeeping for the Wilmington Hammerheads since 2022, where she oversees the club's goalkeeper curriculum, staff, and player development while working with boys' and girls' goalkeepers ages 11-19. She also gained semi-professional coaching experience with Port City FC of the WPSL and Hartford City FC of the NPSL.

Prior to her current roles, Phillips Bosshart spent four seasons at the University of Connecticut, four seasons at Murray State, two seasons at Arkansas, and three seasons at North Florida. During her collegiate coaching career, she served in a variety of roles, including coach, recruiting coordinator, video analyst, and scout. She helped mentor multiple all-conference selections and a Big East Goalkeeper of the Year, while also helping lead Murray State to back-to-back regular-season conference championships.

As a player, Phillips Bosshart competed professionally for the Ottawa Fury of the W-League, earning club MVP honors, and was a member of the United States Under-21 National Team player pool. She also enjoyed a standout collegiate career at the University of Tennessee, where she earned All-SEC Second Team honors twice and was named an NSCAA Academic All-American.
