Kate Federico

Kate Federico was named Director of Volleyball Operations in June of 2019.

Federico played the 2016 and 2017 seasons with the Coastal Carolina indoor volleyball program after transferring from Clemson following her sophomore season. As a junior in 2016, Federico played in 30 matches and finished second for Coastal in total assists and assists per set. Her senior season in 2017 played out in similar fashion as she once again ranked second for the Chants in assists.
 
Coastal Carolina captured back-to-back Sun Belt tournament championships and Sun Belt east division championships during Federico’s two seasons playing with the program, and she additionally played a role in Coastal winning its first-ever NCAA Tournament match versus James Madison in 2016.

Federico played on Coastal's beach volleyball team during the 2017 and 2019 seasons. The 2019 campaign was a historic one for the Chants as the program recorded its first-ever 20-win season, finishing 21-11 overall. Coastal also won its first ASUN Championship matches in 2019, defeating Austin Peay and North Alabama before falling to Florida Gulf Coast in the tournament's quarterfinals. Federico tied for second on the team in overall wins that season with a 21-10 record, and was a perfect 8-0 against ASUN opponents.

Federico played her freshman and sophomore seasons at Clemson. As the starting setter for the Tigers, Federico averaged over 9.0 assists per set in her two seasons and ranked among the top-10 setters in the ACC each year.
