Melville joined the Chanticleer coaching staff in December 2025, bringing a dynamic, attack-minded approach to Coastal Carolina after spending seven seasons with James Madison University's men's soccer program.

Melville served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at JMU from 2018-25, helping guide the Dukes into one of the nation's premier programs. During his tenure, James Madison advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2018, the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2023, and made four NCAA Tournament appearances overall. Known for his keen eye for talent, Melville played an integral role in identifying, recruiting, and developing student-athletes who fueled the program's sustained success on the national stage.

As a player, he competed at Iowa Western Community College, helping the team to an undefeated record and a national championship, before transferring to the University of Cincinnati, where he was a regular starter. Melville holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Cincinnati and an MBA from JMU.
