Sam Weiderhaft currently serves as the play-by-play broadcaster for Coastal Carolina football, men’s basketball and baseball on ESPN+ through the Chanticleer Sports Network. In 2025, he was named an Assistant Director of Media Relations for the Chanticleers.
Weiderhaft has been involved with CCU Athletics in various capacities since 2020, including working as the public address announcer for football and men’s basketball. He also hosts the “Chant Pod”, a weekly podcast covering CCU athletics with interviews from players, coaches and staff.
While based on the Grand Strand, he also served as the play-by-play broadcaster for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Single-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs) from 2021 to 2024 and held the role of Director of Media Relations for the Myrtle Beach Bowl in 2023 and 2024.
Weiderhaft is a 2020 graduate of Butler University in Indianapolis.
