This week included two good conference wins and the only loss for Coastal this season outside of the Kent State tournament. Coastal now leads the Big South Conference with a 4-0 record.
Sunday afternoon Coastal played at Radford in a match Coastal would win 3-1. Amy Bambenek had 14 kills and 12 digs. Roberta Croteau added 12 kills, 17 digs, and 3 blocks. Emma Prowse had a good day on the net with 12 kills (.500 hitting %) and 5 blocks. Wendy Kutz had 10 digs and 3 aces. Autumn Staub had 11 kills and 3 blocks. Setter Colette Pawlyk had 53 assists and 5 blocks.
On Friday the Coastal Volleyball Team headed to Virginia for the weekend. In the first match of the weekend Coastal beat Liberty University 3-0. Coastal came out strong and never looked back. Wendy Kutz had a strong day with 7 kills, 3 aces, 3 blocks, and 10 digs. Amy Bambenek also had a good day with 6 aces and 14 kills. Emma Prowse added 10 kills and 4 blocks. Alicia Pulchinski had 7 digs and 2 aces.
The week began for Coastal with a trip to Clemson. The goal of a team is to have all of it's players play well. What do you say when the entire team has a bad match on the same day. The team was led by Roberta Croteau who had 17 kills on 27 attempts. "We just completed a big weekend in the Big South Conference and did not have time to mentally or physically prepare for this match. Clemson is a very good team. This is part of the game and we must put it behind us and move on to the next match.", Coach Lee.
