CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina's volleyball team made quick work of visiting Elon, 3-0, at Kimbel Arena Friday night. The Lady Chanticleers (8-14 overall, 4-5 in the Big South) fell behind early in all three games, but battled back each time to win 30-23, 30-28 and 30-19.

Sarah Bennett led three players in double-digit kills for Coastal with 15, while Katie Knutson had 13 and Carly Draudt added 10. Sarah Besemer dished out 47 assists as CCU hit .255 for the match.

After dropping game one, the Phoenix (6-17, 1-10) jumped out quickly in game two, taking a 12-8 lead. But Coastal roared back with a sideout, and 11 straight points off Knutson's serves to go up 22-12, and take firm control of the match.

Emily Hayes led Elon with 10 kills.

The Lady Chants return to action tomorrow, October 27, when they host High Point at 3:00 pm, while Elon travels to face Charleston Southern.
