Box Score Volleyball Drops Hard Fought Battle 3-2 to Radford CONWAY, SC— Coastal Carolina's volleyball team battled in one of its toughest matches of the season, but came up just short as Radford prevailed 3-2 Friday night at Kimbel Arena. With the victory, the Highlanders remain undefeated in the Big South, improving to 13-0 in the conference and 21-6 overall.
After falling behind early, the Lady Chanticleers (10-18, 5-8) roared back before falling in the first game 31-29, but continued the momentum, taking the next game 30-22. The Highlanders rebounded in game three, 30-26, but CCU again answered back convincingly, 30-17 in the fourth game, before the Highlanders clinched it 15-9.
Katie Sherwood led the Radford offense, recording 24 kills with a .420 hitting percentage. Nicole Boyd and Melissa Morgan added 15 and 13 kills respectively, as Bliss Mulligan recorded 57 assists.
Katie Knutson led four Lady Chanticleers in double-digit kills with 17, as Lauren Wozniak and Carly Draudt recorded 15 each, and Sarah Bennett 14. Sarah Besemer set the offense with 53 assists.
Coastal wraps up its regular season tomorrow, hosting Liberty at 1:00 pm, while Radford looks to complete its perfect season at Charleston Southern.
