Box Score Volleyball Falls to Liberty, 3-2 CONWAY, S.C.-- The Liberty volleyball team edged Coastal Carolina, 3-2 (30-22, 19-30, 30-24, 20-30, 15-12), in Big South Conference Volleyball action, Saturday afternoon in Kimbel Arena.
The Lady Flames (13-15, 7-4 Big South) had two players record double-doubles in kills and digs on the afternoon. Erin McKeown led Liberty with a team high 19 kills and 28 digs, while Jennifer Belk posted 17 kills and 22 digs. Tatiana Tkachuk also helped pace the Lady Flame attack with 16 kills.
The Lady Chanticleers had five players collect double-doubles in kills and digs, led by senior Katie Knutson who had a match high 22 kills along with 16 digs. Senior Jeanne Lambert recorded 21 kills along with 28 digs. Lambert's season total of 469 digs, breaks the CCU single season school record of 468, held by Knutson, last season. Carly Draudt, along with Sarah Bennett and Lauren Wozniak tallied ten kills each, along with 13, 16 and 18 digs respectively.
CCU freshman Jennifer Hampton posted a career-best and season high 66 assists on the afternoon to help pace the Lady Chanticleer attack.
The Lady Chants (17-9, 8-2 Big South) will next face Winthrop in a key Big South match on Friday, November 8, at 7 p.m. at the Winthrop Coliseum, while Liberty travels to High Point on Thursday.
