Women's Basketball Run Away From Brevard, 76-54

CONWAY, SC -- Sophomore guard Nikki Reddick continued her scoring ways as she posted 25 points to lead Coastal Carolina to a 76-54 women's basketball victory over NAIA member Brevard College on Wednesday night in Kimbel Arena.

Coastal Carolina (3-3) took a quick 2-0 lead just five seconds into the game on a driving layup by Reddick and never looked back. The Lady Chanticleers went on to score the next six points of the contest and take an 8-0 advantage 2:25 into play. A 9-2 run late in the first half by Coastal, the last five points coming from Reddick, stretched the Lady Chants lead to 17 points at 31-14 with 4:41 remaining. Coastal maintained the lead and took a 38-21 advantage into halftime.

In case there were any questions about the outcome of the game at halftime, Coastal Carolina opened the second half with an 11-2 run to take a 49-23 lead with 14:41 remaining.

Reddick connected on 9-of-14 from the field in route to her game-high 25 points. Crystal Brown scored 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field and added nine rebounds. Courtney Brown grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds. While things were positive on the scoreboard for Coastal Carolina, it was not a pretty basketball game overall. The Lady Chants committed 22 turnovers and the game officials whistled a total of 49 fouls.

April Palmer paced Brevard (13-1) with 13 points, while Pam Sanders added 11 points and six rebounds.

Coastal Carolina will continue its three-game homestand on Friday at 7:00 p.m. when the Lady Chanticleers host Furman University. The third game of the homestand will be on Sunday, December 16, at 3:30 p.m. against the College of Charleston.
