Box Score Women's Basketball Downed By Charleston Southern, 66-50

CONWAY, S.C. - Marea Daniels scored 18 points, while Keena Wicker added 17, as the Charleston Southern women's basketball team downed Coastal Carolina, 66-50, in Big South action Saturday night in Kimbel Arena.

The win was Charleston Southern's fourth straight and improved its record to 11-6 overall and 5-2 in the Big South Conference. Coastal Carolina fell to 7-8 overall and 3-4 in the Big South.

The Lady Chanticleers were led by Cyndie Troutman who had 15 points, along with a team-high nine rebounds. Temecca Barnes and Molly Meeks each added 11 points. Big South Preseason Player of the Year Nikki Reddick, was held to a career-low one point on 0-of-11 shooting. Reddick did match her season-high with eight rebounds.

A 11-3 run at the beginning of the second half help the Lady Bucs to a double-digit lead that CSU would retain for the rest of the game. Coastal would get as close as 12 (55-43) with 5:43 remaining on a jumper by Whitney Shearer.

For the game, Charleston Southern shot 47.2 percent from the floor, while holding the Lady Chants to 32.1 percent.

Coastal will next travel to Birmingham-Southern on Wednesday at 6:30, while Charleston Southern also travels to Birmingham to face the Lady Panthers on Monday, Jan. 27.
