CONWAY, S.C.— Pam Wilson has been named assistant women's soccer coach at Coastal Carolina University, head coach Karrie Miller announced today. She is replacing Rohan Nahraine, who has taken the head women's soccer coach position at Southern University.

The 29-year-old Wilson (8-6-73) has spent the past three years as a graduate assistant coach at the University of South Dakota, working primarily with the goalkeepers. During that time, she also worked with the South Dakota Olympic Development Program. She also currently holds the United States Soccer Federation's "E" Coaching License and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's Goalkeeping "I" License and Advanced Regional Diploma.

Prior to that, she was a volunteer assistant varsity coach at Fort Collins (CO) High School for two years and spent three years as an assistant coach at Springfield (IL) High School. She has also worked with the Dakota Gold (SD) and Thompson United (CO) Soccer Clubs during her career.

A native of Springfield, Ill., Wilson played two years of college soccer at Quincy University in 1991, a team that ranked among the top-20 Division II teams, and Florissant Valley Community College in 1992. She earned her bachelor's in social work from Quincy in 1996 and is slated to complete her master's in counseling from South Dakota in May 2004.

A two-sport letterwinner at Springfield High School, she was a two-time All-Mid-State, All-City and All-Conference selection in soccer, including earning her team's Most Valuable Player award as a senior. In 1990, she set a new state record for consecutive shutouts. She was also a varsity swimmer at Springfield.
