Women's Golf Finishes 11th At Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women’s golf team finished 11th at the 2005 Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate after the opening round of the 2005 Landfall Tradition, Oct. 28. The 54-hole tournament, hosted by College of Charleston, was contested at Oak Point Golf Club (Par 72 - 5,930 yards) in Kiawah Island, S.C.
The Chanticleers opened with a 303 in the opening round, but slipped in the final two rounds to finish with a three-round total of 937. Idaho won the event with a 54-hole score of 912, one shot better than College of Charleston and two better than Nebraska.
Coastal was led by freshman Ann Maness for the fourth time in five events this season, as she tied for 13th at 229. Senior Lindsey Letzig was next in a tie for 39th at 235.
The Lady Chanticleers have completed their fall season. They are next in action at the Papa John’s Collegiate, Sun.-Tue., Feb. 12-14. The tournament will be played at Don Shula’s Golf Club in Miami, Fla.
