CHARLESTON, S.C. – Coastal Carolina’s volleyball team fell to the College of Charleston in three games Sunday, Nov. 27. Game scores were 30-10, 30-17, and 30-15. The Lady Chanticleers finish the 2005 season with a 19-12 record while the Cougars head to the NCAA Tournament with a 31-1 record. CofC took off early with a 10-4 lead in the first game. A kill by
Brett Starbuck (Glen Allen, Va./JR Tucker) tried to get the Lady Chants back into the game but the Cougars continued to control. After a kill from the Cougars’ Tiffany Blum, CofC went on a four-point streak and took a 15-5 lead. The Lady Chants tried to fight back at a 15-5 deficit when a kill from
Jennifer Hampton (Lake Forest, Calif/El Toro) sent the Lady Chants on a three-point run. The Cougars continued to dominate and won the first game, 30-10. The Cougars took charge the second game leading 8-0 until an attack error from Anne Uthe brought CCU to the board. The Lady Chants tried to catch up to the Cougars, but the Cougars continued to control. The teams continued to rally back and forth point by point until CofC won the second game, 30-17. CofC continued to dominate the match by leading the third game. CCU could not close in a gap the third game as CofC won, 30-15. Leading the way for the Lady Chants was junior

Kristin Rinne (Fountain Hills, Ariz./Fountain Hills ) had 15 digs in CCU’s effort. Starbuck contributed with three kills and nine digs.
