Football Dismisses Three Players From Squad
CONWAY, S.C. -- Coastal Carolina University has dismissed three football players from the team for violation of athletic department policy, CCU Athletics Director Warren Koegel and Head Football Coach David Bennett announced today. Redshirt freshmen Mario Tynes (Atlanta, Ga./Stephenson), Eric Brown, Jr. (Winston-Salem, N.C./Carver) and Ricky Johnson (Winston-Salem, N.C./Carver) have all been immediately removed from the program and scholarships revoked. Tynes, a cornerback, has played in five games this year, recording four tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery. Also a cornerback, Brown has seen action in three games with four tackles. Johnson, a wide receiver, has played in one game and made one catch.
