BUIES CREEK, N.C.-Despite being up by 19 points during the first half, the Coastal Carolina University women's basketball held off a second-half comeback from Campbell 66-56 on Monday, Nov. 16 at Gore Arena.

Senior Amanda Stull and junior Sydnei Moss combined for a total of 45 points out of the Chanticleers 66, and grabbed eight rebounds a piece. Stull had the game-high 23 points, while Moss tied her career-high with 22.

The Chanticleers came out strong in the first half with Stull shooting a three-pointer to open scoring s that led the Chanticleers in a 13-2 run. Stull went 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and added a jumper to end the first half with 17 points. Moss also scored with 11 points and grabbed for five rebounds in the first half. The combined effort helped Coastal lead the Lady Camels 42-28.

The Chanticleers came out in the second half scoring the first five points to give them the largest lead of the game, 47-32, but the Lady Camels began a seven point comeback starting with a Tonisha Baker lay-up at five minutes into the second half.

Campbell's Lauren Yesh contributed to the comeback by scoring eight points and capping it off with a jumper with 2:35 left putting the Lady Camels within three, 53-56. Stull then answered with a jumper giving the Chanticleers a five point advantage with two minutes left.

With a minute left Campbell was trailing by only six, until Baker scored on a break away while being fouled, hitting the and-one, and making the game a one possession situation, 60-57. With 41 seconds left, senior Devin Rivers put the game away by hitting a crucial shot in the paint, and giving the Chanticleers another five point advantage. In the final three minutes, Moss went 8-for-8 from charity stripe that also helped clinch the game for the Coastal.

The Camels outscored the Chants 31 to 24 in the second half as Yesh scored nine of her 11 points, and Baker scored nine of her 17 points in the second half. The Camels now fall to 1-1 on the season.

The Chanticleers shot .451 from the paint and .875 from the charity stripe. The Chanticleers out rebounded the Camels 36-25.

The Chanticleer improve to 2-0 before traveling to Chapel Hill, N.C. for a quick turnaround on Wednesday, Nov. 18 against North Carolina at 7 p.m.
