Final Stats

CONWAY, S.C.-The Coastal Carolina University women's basketball team's 21-0 first half run helped lead it to an 81-46 win over Coker College Sunday, November 29 in Kimbel Arena.Coastal improved to 4-2 on the season and a perfect 35-0 in the all-time series versus Coker. With the loss, the Cobras fell to 0-5 on the season.

The Chanticleers held the Cobras to a 10-minute scoring drought and just 17 points in the first half as the Chanticleers were ahead by a 34-17 margin at the break. Senior Amanda Stull and junior Sydnei Moss led the team with eight points apiece, and Coker's Lotta Aaltonen scored four points, including her 1,000th career point, in the first half.

The Cobras came out the second half not giving up, as Aaltonen scored seven points and Kiesha Beavers added two foul shots pull the Cobras within 15 points at 42-27 with 15:22 to go, but that was closest they would come to the Chanticleers.

Coming off the bench, sophomore Olivia Irick took over the scoring for the Chanticleers by hitting both her shots from beyond the three-point arc and scoring 12 in the second half. The Coastal bench tallied the 30 of the 47 points scored in the second stanza.

Irick had a game-high 16 points, shooting 7-of-8 from the field. Moss followed by adding 14 points and seven rebounds while Stull chipped in 13 points and two rebounds. The Chants shot 55.4 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc. Coastal outrebounded Coker 37-31 and scored 30 points off of Cobra turnovers. Aaltonen led the Cobras with 15 points. Coker was held to 31.3 percent from the field, and the Chants forced 23 Cobra turnovers.

Coastal will open December at home against in-state rival College of Charleston on Wednesday, December 2 at 7 p.m. in Kimbel Arena.
