CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's golf team looks for another strong showing when the Chanticleers take part in the Palmetto Intercollegiate that begins Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. from the Oak Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.
The 18-team field also includes Campbell, Charleston Southern, Eastern Kentucky, East Tennessee State, Elon, High Point, Illinois State, Jacksonville State, Kansas, Kennesaw State, Miami, Morehead State, Richmond, The Citadel, Western Carolina and Wichita State.
The first two rounds will be played on Monday and will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The second round will commence immediately after the first round is concluded. A shotgun start will begin the third and final round at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Chanticleers turned in a 12th place finish at the Mercedes-Benz Women's Collegiate Championships in their most recent tournament. Coastal sophomore Jessica Alexander tied for 15th place and carded an even-par 72 in the third round and the first round to finish with a 54-hole score of 218. Her two rounds of 72 mark her best rounds of the season.
Alexander leads the team with a 76.00 stroke average per round and was recently named the Big South Women's Golfer of the Week.
