No. 13 Coastal Carolina Travels to Winthrop Saturday

CONWAY - The nationally ranked Coastal Carolina men's soccer takes to the road looking to extend its current nine-game winning streak on Saturday, Oct. 29 in Rock Hill, S.C., against the Winthrop Eagles with kick-off slated for 2:00 p.m.
The Chanticleers moved into first place in the NCAA in total goals scored (43), second in scoring offense with 2.87 goals per game, fourth in winning percentage (.867) and 35th in team goals against average (.860) with a pair of wins last week.
Coastal has also advanced three spots to 13th in the SoccerAmerica Poll for its highest ranking of the year. The squad also moved up two spots to 17th in the CollegeSoccerNews poll and up three spots to 17th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America rankings while holding the 21st spot in the latest RPI.
Ashton Bennett enters the match as the reigning TopDrawerSoccer.com National Player of the Week while also garnering Big South Attacking Player of the Week honors for the third time this season.
Bennett moved into first place in the NCAA with 37 total points, tied for first with 16 goals, second in points per game (2.47), sixth in goals per game and 65th in total assists (5). Bennett has recorded two hat tricks this year and four multi-goal games. He has also recorded six game-winning goals and two multi-assist games this year while ranking 96th in assist per game (.33). He currently ranks tied for eighth in the Coastal Carolina annuals for single season goals scored.
With four shutouts this season, Scott Angevine moved into sole possession of third place on the all-time shutout list in Coastal Carolina history with 15. The Kansas City, Kan., native only needs one more clean sheet to tie the all-time record of 16 held by Chris Malinky (1997-2000) and Neal Robinson (1993-96). Also, Angevine ranks 41st in the nation with a .881 goals against average.
This is the 42nd meeting between the two schools with the Chanticleers leading the series 23-16-2 including a 2-1 double overtime win last season in Conway.
Winthrop has won two straight games including a 1-0 overtime victory against Liberty and a 2-1 win over Presbyterian College giving the Eagles a 3-3 Big South record while improving to 6-9 overall.
