"We came out semi-strong tonight, but did not sustain. The College of Charleston had a lot of offense behind their setter and we were unable to stop those plays. I think if we could have blocked a couple of the setter's balls and dug a couple of more then we could have been more successful, but the Cougars just out-performed us in those areas tonight," said head coach Kristen Bauer.
Lightsey and Bernett each tallied 11 kills in the match for Coastal Carolina. Sophomore Lindsay Gill led the Chanticleers in digs with 22 and freshman Katie Martin posted three blocks. Sophomore Sam Skryd finished the match with 36 assists and three service aces.
Sloane White posted 16 kills and three service aces in the match for the Cougars, while Emily Shelton recorded 15 digs. Leading the College of Charleston in blocks was Sarah Havel who posted six blocks. Taeler Davis finished with 28 assists.
