CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men's soccer game against UNC Wilmington was cancelled after 52 minutes of play due to lightning in the area.
The game was scoreless prior to the cancellation with Coastal attempting five shots and UNC Wilmington recording four.
Justin Portillo attempted three corner kicks, with two resulting in shots. Coastal had its best opportunity to score in the 16th minute when Kjartan Sigurdsson sent a Portillo corner kick wide right of the frame. Sigurdsson and Pedro Ribeiro recorded the lone two shots on goal for the Chants while Thomas Driver had the only shot on goal for the Seahawks.
The Chanticleers will return to the pitch on Sunday, Oct. 2 to face conference foe Liberty at 1:00 pm at the CCU Soccer Field.
