Camargo scored two goals and added an assist in Coastal Carolina's 3-1 win at N.C. State on Tuesday. He scored his first goal of the match 22 seconds into the second half with a shot from 15 yards out. His second goal came at the 48:04 mark on a shot to the left post. Camargo continued his week with three shots in the Chanticleers' 1-0 victory at Campbell on Saturday, forcing two full-extension saves.
The conference honor is the first in Camargo's career. He joins Ricky Garbanzo (Attacking POW, Sept. 2) and Elis Bjornsson (Defensive POW, Sept. 22) as Chanticleers to earn recognition from the Big South this season.
Through 10 matches, Camargo leads the Chanticleers (7-3-0) in goals with four and total points with 11 (4 goals, 3 assists). In addition, the Colombian also ranks tops on the team with 28 shot attempts.
The Chanticleers, ranked 23rd by College Soccer News, continue their Big South regular season title defense Tuesday against Presbyterian. Kickoff from the CCU Soccer Stadium is slated for 6 p.m. Coastal leads the all-time series against the Blue Hose by an 11-1-1 count. The Chanticleers have won five straight against their conference brethren, including four straight by shutout.
