CONWAY - Coastal Carolina, the first Big South football program to open consecutive seasons with a 9-0 record, remained #2 in the FCS Coaches poll and #3 in The Sports Network media poll after a 38-14 victory at Gardner-Webb this past Saturday.
Coastal Carolina has nine wins in seven different stadiums this season and will look to make it an eighth stadium this Saturday as the Chanticleers travel to Charlotte to face the 49ers at Noon - a game that will be broadcast on WCCB in Charlotte and WFXB in Myrtle Beach.
Coastal is THE ONLY NCAA team (ALL LEVELS) to be 6-0 in road games this season. The most recent road win came against a Gardner-Webb team that entered the CCU contest 4-0 at home and had won 11 of its previous 13 home games.
The Chanticleers set a Big South record by winning its sixth straight road game. Overall, Coastal's current nine-game win streak is third-best in the FCS, trailing North Dakota State (33 consecutive wins) and Harvard (11 consecutive wins).
Coastal Carolina opponents that also appear in this week's polls include Liberty (#27/#27), North Carolina A&T (#31/#32), South Carolina State (#33/#33) and Charleston Southern (#45).
