
Coastal Men's Golf Completes Round Two at Tar Heel

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's golf team improved one stroke in round two, shooting a 201, and moved into a tie for 16th with a 36-hole total of 603 at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate, played at the par 72, 7,442-yard UNC UNC Finley Golf Course.
Host North Carolina leads the 18-team with a two-round score of 26-under par 550 (273-277), followed by East Carolina (286-283=569), Kennesaw State (288-282=570) and GRU Augusta (287-285=572).
Harrison Frye led the Chants in round two, shooting a 2-over par 74. Overall, the freshman is tied for 75th with his 36-hole total of 152. Frye carded a 6-over 78 in the first round. Saturday, he was 3-over after nine holes, but posted a birdie on his 10th hole, the 430-yard, par-4 first hole, before reeling off eight pars to finish with his 74.
Chris Williams is tied for 59th, leading the team overall through two rounds. He shot a second-round 3-over par 75 and has a two-day score of 4-over 148. Williams was 1-under par at the turn but suffered four bogeys on the final nine holes to shoot 75. Olle Widegren is tied for 73rd. After an opening round 74, the sophomore turned in a 77 Saturday for a 7-over 151.
Ryan Carpenter and Vinnie Murphy each shot 76 on Saturday. Carpenter is tied for 81st with a 9-over par 153 (77-76). Murphy is tied for 95th with a 14-over 158 (82-76).
The Tar Heel Intercollegiate will conclude with 18 holes on Sunday.
