Final Stats

High Point, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team lost its second straight game to host High Point Tuesday night, falling 73-65 at the Panthers' Millis Center.

The Chanticleers drop back to .500 on the season at 10-10, and are 4-7 against Big South competition. The win improves High Point to 13-7 overall, 9-2 in league play.

The loss came despite solid individual scoring efforts from both Jas Adams and AJ Jordan, and Anna Vogt earning her eighth double-double of the season.

Adams led all players with 21 points on the night, just two off her career high. Jordan was the game's second-leading scorer with 18 points, 16 of which spurred a Coastal comeback attempt in the second half. The senior guard's 13th point of the night, which came on a 3-pointer, put her at ninth place among Coastal's all-time career points leaders.

Vogt's double-double came on 15 points and a game-leading 12 rebounds, making her the first Chanticleer in the past 15 years to record eight double-doubles in one season (Coastal's reliable double-double records begin with the 2001-02 season).

Kaylah Keys led the Panthers with 17 points on 7-13 shooting from the field. Stacia Robertson, the conference's third-leading scorer, tallied 14 points, and completed the double-double with 11 rebounds. Kat Harris also finished in double figures for the Panthers with 10 points.

High Point out-shot the Chants from the field 44.6 percent to 35.6 percent, and from the line with an impressive 94.4 percent (17-18) to Coastal's 83.3 percent (20-24). The Chants won the rebounding battle, however, grabbing 38 boards to the Panthers' 34.

A slow-starting first half saw the Chants take an early 9-4 lead, but that was erased after a Lindsay Puckett 3-pointer and two free throws from DeAnneisha Jackson. Coastal held Robertson off the board for the opening 11 minutes, but the senior forward followed her first two points of the night with six more in quick succession to double the Chants at 22-11 with seven minutes left in the first. Adams responded by scoring nine of Coastal's 11 points for the remainder of the half, but the Panther offense continued to produce, and put High Point ahead by 14 points at the half.

Jordan led the Chants in the second half with 16 points on 6-11 from the field, and 3-3 from the line. Her jumper at 13:51 of the second sparked a 12-2 Coastal run over the next four minutes that brought the Chants within seven points of the Panthers and forced High Point to use a timeout.

Coming out of the timeout, Keys knocked down five quick points, and Maja Michalska added a 3-pointer to put High Point back up by 13. The Panthers continued to build the lead from there, pulling ahead by as many as 18 points with just under four minutes remaining in the game. High Point was aided by shooting 12-13 from the line in the second half, including a perfect 4-4 from Kat Harris in the closing minutes.

Tuesday's game marked the end of Coastal's two-game road swing, and the Chants return home to The HTC Center on Saturday to host Gardner-Webb at 2 p.m. The Runnin' Bulldogs bested Coastal in the first meeting between the sides this season, taking an 82-74 victory in Boiling Springs.
