Football Stays 4th in National Polls; Travels to Liberty

STATS FCS Top 25
CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina football program remained at #4 in both the FCS Coaches' and STATS FCS Top 25 polls for the second consecutive week after a decisive 45-13 victory versus Kennesaw State.
The Chanticleers have been ranked among the nation's top 10 the entire season and have been ranked among the top five in 11 of the 12 ranking periods this season, including eight straight weeks as the nation's top-ranked team in the FCS Coaches' poll.
Since Coastal Carolina head coach Joe Moglia took over for the 2012 season, Coastal has been:
- ranked #1 for 10 weeks, including eight straight from Sept. 7, 2015 to Oct. 26, 2015
- ranked among the top 25 in 43 consecutive polls
- ranked among the top 25 in 43 of the 56 polls over the span
- ranked among the top 10 in 36 of the last 37 polls
- ranked among the top 5 a total of 28 times
Charleston Southern, which received its first ever first-place vote in the national media poll, is ranked ninth in the STATS FCS top 25, while the Buccaneers are eighth in the FCS Coaches' poll. Western Illinois, a team Coastal beat 34-27 earlier this season, is receiving votes in both polls, coming in at 33rd by the media and 39th by the coaches.
Coastal Carolina will close the 2015 regular season this Thursday (Nov. 19) with a trip to rival Liberty. Kickoff is set for 7 pm and the contest will be telecast live on ESPNEWS.
