Louisville, Ky. - Senior Letitia Saayman of the Coastal Carolina women's cross country team competed in the NCAA Cross Country Championships Saturday afternoon at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.
Saayman clocked a time of 20:09.8 in the 6k race to place 18th amongst the 254 runner-field. With the 18th place finish, Saayman earned All-American honors becoming the third Chanticleer to accomplish this feat. This was also the 2nd highest finish at the NCAA Championships in school history.
Finishing with a time of 20:09, the South-African native broke her own 6k record which she previously set earlier this season with a time of 20:15 at the Pre-National meet.
Saayman finishes her career with her best season yet earning multiple accolades throughout the season and saved her best race for last with another record breaking performance.
